Ucka Nature Park is Istria green lung — a forested mountain massif that rises sharply from the eastern coast, offering a natural world completely different from the coastal and agricultural landscape below.
Vojak Summit
The highest peak, Vojak at 1,396 metres, offers one of the finest views in all of Croatia on a clear day — the entire Istrian peninsula, the Kvarner islands, the Italian coast, and in exceptional visibility, the peaks of the Dolomites.
- Well-marked trails from the villages of Poklon and Vela Ucka
- Approximately 2 to 3 hours from the main trailhead to the summit
- Beech and hornbeam forest giving way to open rocky summit
- The mountain hut at Poklon serves food and drink
Other Trails
Beyond the summit ascent, Ucka offers trails through meadows of wild orchids, along limestone ridges, and down to the sea. The diversity of flora — over 1,500 plant species — makes it a paradise for botanists and nature photographers.
From the summit of Vojak, you see all of Istria at once. Everything you have been exploring makes sense when you see it from up here.
